I have done it! Finally! After years of trying many many different chocolate chip cookies, I have at long last found a recipe that I love. Chewy, choclate-y, and straightforward directions. Win! Win! Win! Now if only I had a glass of milk…
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Adapted from: Blonde Ambition in the Kitchen
2C + 2T flour (all purpose)
1/2t baking soda
12T unsalted butter (melted, then cooled until just warm)
1C brown sugar
1/2C granulated sugar
1 egg + 1 yolk
2t vanilla extract
1 1/2C chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 325.
Dry ingredients in a bowl (flour, salt, baking soda)
Mix butter and sugar until combined. Add egg/yolk and vanilla. Beat in dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips.
The original recipe states to “roll a scant half-cup into a ball, pull apart into 2 equal halves, rotate 90 degrees and place on cookie sheet with jagged side up” — what? I just rolled them into equal sized pieces and “dropped” them onto a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Cook for about 14 minutes, rotating the cookie sheet about half way through.
So good. Enjoy.
